The Susan Komen race for the cure event in Newport Beach Sept 28th, 2008
Warriors in Pink powered by Ford is designed to reach many different types of people at different times, in different places, in unique and interesting ways. The campaign is positive and powerful. Beautiful and passionate. It's not just about raising funds, it's about raising consciousness. About raising spirits. It was created to add more energy and visibility to our 14-year commitment to Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®. This exciting initiative will increase your presence, and, ultimately, raise more funds than ever for the cause.
This year, Ford is ramping up the horsepower in the fight against Breast Cancer with the introduction of the all new Limited Edition 2009 Mustang with Warriors in Pink Package. For each 2009 WIP Package sold, $500 will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Ford continues their support through sales of the limited edition 2008 Mustang with Warriors in Pink package with $250 from the sale of each 2008 package donated to Komen.
Capistrano Ford joined the fight on September 28, 2008. We got together a team and raced our way through Newport Beach. It was truly amazing to see all of the spirit and hope that filled the air that day. Since 1995, Ford has donated more than $87 million to the foundation, and more than 50,000 of its employees have participated in the races all across the continent in support of the cause. Surfers Healing was founded by Israel and Danielle Paskowitz. Their son, Isaiah, was diagnosed with autism at age three. Like many autistic children, he often suffered from sensory overload-- simple sensations could overwhelm him. The ocean was the one place where he seemed to find respite.
A former competitive surfer, Israel hit upon an idea--with Isaiah on the front of his surfboard, and Izzy steering from the back, the two spent the day surfing together. Surfing had a profound impact on Isaiah. Israel and Danielle decided they wanted to share this unique therapy with other autistic children. They began to host day camps at the beach where autistic children and their families could be exposed to a completely new experience of surfing.
Capistrano Ford has been a part of Surfers Healing for several years. We pride ourselves on being involved with such a meaningful program that puts efforts to such a great cause. Autism is a unfortunate reality that many face, so it is refreshing to see what a difference that this foundation has made for so many kids. Check out their website and look through the pictures. San Clemente Ocean Festival

The San Clemente Ocean Festival is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the promotion and support of ocean safety, the environment and the community by providing a quality athletic, cultural and enjoyable family event.
Capistrano Ford has been a loyal sponsor for the ocean festival since 2000. We are located .5 miles from the beach and realize how important it is to respect our ocean, that is why we promote such events as these.
