What is 911 Assist and how does it work?

Using your mobile phone, 911 Assist helps put you directly in touch with a 911 operator - bypassing intermediary call centers - and if you're unable to speak, delivers an emergency message to the operator.

When the feature is ON, 911 Assist uses your paired and connected mobile phone to dial 911 if your airbag deploys and, on certain vehicles, if the emergency fuel pump shut-off is activated.

911 Assist gives occupants the option to cancel the call before dialing.

What is the SYNC Vehicle Health Report service?

The SYNC Vehicle Health Report service is a new Driver Service, available on select vehicles, in select markets beginning fall 2008.

When you run a Vehicle Health Report, SYNC uses your paired and connected mobile phone to send certain diagnostic information from your vehicle to Ford Motor Company.

Ford Motor Company uses this and other information to create a personalized, easy-to-understand Vehicle Health Report in your SYNC owner account at syncmyride.com.

Vehicle Health Report shows you what your vehicle, the dealer and Ford Motor Company have to say about your vehicle's health:

• Vehicle diagnostics
• Scheduled maintenance
• Un-serviced maintenance and wear items from your preferred dealer
• Recall information
• Schedule service online
