Ford Upgrades Mustang Mach-E Performance Ahead of Launch

Orders are now open for the all-new, all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E, and those who had reserved their own Mustang Mach-E can now convert those reservations into official orders. Ford has also revised its previous performance estimates and is now promising even more horsepower and torque across the range of Mustang Mach-E models.

“We remain dedicated to delivering on the promise of the Mustang name,” said Ron Heiser, chief program engineer for the Mustang Mach-E. “These better-than-estimated performance figures show that our team is squeezing every last bit of performance out of this vehicle so that it not only delivers Mustang style but Mustang soul as well.”

For those who want the details, here are the new performance figures:

  • Extended-range all-wheel drive Mustang Mach-E – 346 hp and 428 lb./ft. of torque
  • Extended-range rear-wheel drive Mustang Mach-E – 290 hp and 317 lb./ft. of torque
  • Standard-range all-wheel drive Mustang Mach-E – 266 hp and 428 lb./ft. of torque
  • Standard-range rear-wheel drive Mustang Mach-E – 266 hp and 317 lb./ft. of torque

Ford wants to ensure that Mustang Mach-E owners get the performance, ride quality and driving dynamics expected of the Mustang line of vehicles. If you would like to reserve your Ford Mustang Mach-E from Capistrano Ford, visit our reservation page and let us know you are interested.

Ford is introducing three new off-road ready performance accessory packages for the midsize Ranger pickup truck. These packages have been designed to give Ranger drivers even more personalization options and capability when having fun off-road.

Ford & GE Working Together to Produce Ventilators

Ford Motor Company and GE Healthcare are now working together to start production of ventilators for COVID-19 patients across the United State. The goal is to produce 50,000 units in 100 days and up to 30,000 a month after that if needed. The ventilator design was quickly approved by the FDA and created by Airon Corp. with a simplified, but effective design.

The new GE/Airon Model A-E ventilator operates using air pressure and doesn’t require electricity, which allows it to be used in a variety of environments and locations that may not have easy access to power. It has been specifically designed to meet the needs of most COVID-19 patients suffering respiratory issues, and can be quickly produced in large numbers.

“The Ford and GE Healthcare teams, working creatively and tirelessly, have found a way to produce this vitally needed ventilator quickly and in meaningful numbers,” said Ford president and CEO Jim Hackett. “By producing this ventilator in Michigan, in strong partnership with the UAW, we can help health care workers save lives, and that’s our No. 1 priority.”

Working around the clock, 500 paid volunteer UAW employees are going to build the ventilators on three shifts at the factory in Michigan. Airon currently produces three ventilators per day in Florida, but Ford plans to make up to 7,200 per week once it reaches full production speed in the coming weeks.

Electric Ford Transit Van Arriving in 2022

Ford will be introducing an all-electric version of the Ford Transit van in 2022, which will be available for purchase at dealerships in the United States and Canada. The primary goal of the all-electric Transit is to help businesses become more sustainable, lower ownership costs and improve air quality and noise levels in cities across the country.

Leading the commercial van segment for 35 years with the popular E-Series, Transit and Transit Connect cargo vans, Ford has the experience and technology businesses need to get their work done. After purchasing an all-electric Ford Transit van, owners will get access to Ford’s incredible commercial service network, top-quality upfitting services and the largest public charging network in North America.

Built in the United States, the new all-electric Ford Transit is another piece of Ford’s $11.5 billion investment in electric vehicle technology. The electric Ford Transit will join the already announced electric Ford F-150 and stylish Mustang Mach-E vehicles coming to dealers in the coming months and years.

Like many of Ford’s Commercial Vehicles, the all-electric Ford Transit will feature the technology businesses need to optimize efficiency and reduce waste. Connected technology like Ford Telematics, Ford PassConnect with 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and Ford Data Service tools provide more information to employees and managers in the vehicle and remotely.
