F-150 & Mustang Earn Ford Top 3 Spot in Dependability Study
Automotive analyst J.D. Power recently named Ford Motor Company one of the top automakers in the company’s Vehicle Dependability Study, with Ford tied for a top three position. The annual study measures problems experienced over the past year by original owners of three-year-old vehicles.
Among the largest contributors to Ford’s performance in the study was its SYNC 3 infotainment system. Often times, in-car technology can be a source of frustration among drivers, and SYNC 3 makes it easy with an intuitive user interface, simple voice commands and smartphone integration.
The Ford F-150 was named the top vehicle in the large light-duty pickup truck segment, and the Ford Mustang earned the top award for sporty midsize cars. Customers also agree with J.D. Power, with the Ford F-150 and Mustang being America’s best selling truck and world’s best-selling sports coupe.
“For us, high quality means more than a great experience in the first few months of ownership; it includes a great experience throughout a customer’s ownership journey, and these results affirm our commitment to building high-quality vehicles,” said Lind Cash, Ford vice president of Quality and New Model Launch Program.
